Portfolio Company Spotlight – Lambda Labs
Portfolio Company Spotlight - Lambda Labs
In this week’s Portfolio Company Spotlight Joshua Siegel of Acronym Venture Capital discusses Lambda Labs, which produces hardware as well as operates data centers of NVIDIA Graphical Processing Units (or “GPUs”) that allow for on-demand and reserved Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) training and inference.
The Ballast Rock AVC Growth Fund invested in Lambda in December 2023, helping to close out their $320 million Series C raise. Lambda Labs are essentially a utility for the ongoing AI revolution, making the investment a “picks and shovels” play, rather than investing in a specific AI use case. Lambda serves more than 5,000 customers including Microsoft, Amazon, and IBM.
The Acronym Venture Capital* team recently sat down to discuss Lambda, why the BR AVC Growth Fund invested, and why we are excited about its prospects going forward.
